Adam Yencho Answers Five Questions

Adam Yencho Answers Five Questions

In the latest installment of our popular feature, Burrell Copywriter Adam Yencho answers Five Questions with SCREEN.

SCREEN: If you could appoint ANYONE to be the President of the United States, who would it be and why?

ADAM: Considering who’s in the office now, I’d say ANYONE but Lord Orangemort. That being said, I’d appoint Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation. To me, she’s the definition of what a government official should be: selfless, empathetic, inspiring, hardworking, and a leader who can bring people together. Plus, under her administration, there’d be waffles on every corner.

SCREEN: Most famous person you’ve ever met?

ADAM: Jack McBrayer or Kenneth from 30 Rock. I used to work in the box office at Second City when Jack was on the E.T.C. stage there. One of the funniest and sweetest person you could ever hope to meet. To give you an example of how sweet, Jack has called me on birthday every year for almost 10 years now. #humblebrag

SCREEN: What’s the best thing you ever ate?

ADAM: Jimmy Dog from Jimmy’s Quick Lunch in my hometown of Hazleton, PA. Flatiron grilled, all-beef hot dog topped with homemade chili, finely chopped onions, and brown mustard on a steamed hot dog bun. I always make sure to get a “kupple, too-tree” (Northeast PA speak for “a couple, two-three”) whenever I visit home. Be warned. As delicious as the dogs are, they stay with you long after. I swear I burped five days later and still tasted it.

SCREEN: Give us the one song/track we can’t live without that we haven’t heard of yet?

ADAM: Molly by Le Matos. John Carpenter-esque synth with a driving, dance beat and killer instrumental hooks. Great for working out, writing, driving, etc.

SCREEN: Best advice you’ve ever been given?

ADAM: Success comes in cans, not cannots. My dad told that to me when I was a kid. For the longest time, I thought it was stupid advice. “Pff… whatever, Pop. You can get success in a can.” I’ve since come around and learned the wisdom of it. (Please don’t tell my dad I actually learned something from him. I’ll never hear the end of it.)

BONUS QUESTION!

SCREEN: Any predictions for 2017?

ADAM: Lord Orangemort will be impeached or George RR Martin’s next book, The Winds of Winter, will finally come out. Sadly, I’m not holding my breath for either.
