Intake Studio has just completed production on a music video for the Colorado-based powerhouse trio, SKYFOX. The video is for the song “Run Away” which will be released on their forthcoming EP entitled THE TWILIGHT EP.
The piece was shot on location in a residential neighborhood outside of Denver, Colorado and brought back to Wichita, Kansas to post. Through narrative scenes and heavily composited live-action performance shots, the video tells the story of one man’s life and trials and his rediscovery of the importance of relationships. The performance shots take the band on a symbolic journey through the life of the main character as the quiet suburban background is taken over by the skyline of a large city.
The video for “Run Away” was conceptualized and directed by Heath Balderston and brought to life through the talents of Vincent McNeill and Chad McClure, all from Intake Studio.
“We started off with six different treatments for this video.” says Heath Balderston, Creative Director at Intake Studio. “There were some whacky ideas and some real true-to-life ones. The version we finally went with allowed us to stay true to the storyline of the song as well as introduce the visual effects that put the band right in the middle of the story. Also, in doing this, we were able to use the actual people in the video that the story revolves around.”
“Heath and I have known each other for a while and have talked about doing something together, but always while we both had a million other things happening.” says Jaret Reddick, lead singer and guitarist of Bowling For Soup and co-founder of Crappy Records. “When we signed Skyfox, I sent him the song and he said, “Let’s do it!” I never imagined the end product would be so amazing. With limited resources and budget constraints on both time and money, Heath and his team took the video and the song to a place we never thought possible. I can’t wait for our next project with Heath and
